Matthew brings more than 25 years of experience as an advisor, executive and investor. His experiences span a broad range of industries including Information Technology, Consumer, Retail, Financial Services and Life Sciences.
Matthew has worked with clients who are leaders in their respective industries on issues of strategy, corporate development, leadership, performance improvement, sales and marketing in the US, Europe and Asia.
Prior to joining Trium, Matthew served as a general partner of Monitor Group, a global consulting firm and merchant bank located in San Francisco. Matthew's responsibilities included acting as lead partner on the West Coast and as a venture partner within Monitor Capital. From 1992 to 1999, he served as Western U.S. Practice Leader for AT Kearney, Inc., a global management consulting firm and was a founder of the firm's Financial Institutions Practice and served on the North American Management Committee.
Prior to joining A.T. Kearney, Inc., Matthew was a consultant with McKinsey & Company, Inc. in New York and London. Examples of Matthew's former clients include Amgen, Bank of America, Clorox, Gilead, HP/EDS, JP Morgan Chase, Sears, the State of California and the City of Shanghai.
Between 1999 and 2000 Matthew was SVP corporate strategy and development and SVP Gap global marketing at Gap, Inc. Matthew has also worked with BT Capital (leveraged buyouts) in New York, and Bankers Trust Venture Capital in London, and with National Westminster Bank in London. Matthew is a director of several private companies including Trium and is an active angel investor. He is a member of the Academy for Interactive Arts & Sciences, an Advisory Board Director of BayBio, and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
Matthew received both a BA and MA from Oxford University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Matthew lives in the Bay Area with his wife, Alison Davis, and five children. He is a competitive rower and sculler with recent medals at the World and US Masters Championships.
